Located in Clay and Cleburne counties, the park is the oldest continuously operated state park in Alabama and the only one in Alabama with a waterfall and a canyon path. The main features of this park are the waterfall, the gorge and the path, all on a property once owned by R.A. Mitchell, who gave Gadden the land to improve public enjoyment.
